imaginary friends

evi loves talking to her many, many friends in her head, it even includes daddy.

well i say that because she sometimes say " daddy says cannot do ...... wan" or when she is angry she will say "i tell daddy wan ah, i am going to tell daddy" or she picks up the phone, poke a few numbers and start talking to daddy.

her imaginary friends range from animals to cartoon characters to whatever or whoever pops into her head. she plays with them the whole day and talks non-stop if there are no human available for her to "harass".

she has own style too and character...her special head band made up of dangling pink goggles...really cute fashionista.

latest craze is playing with rope and tying up everything in the whole house...her fave victim is rossie!! who gently obliged, loving the attention.

party pooper?

evi is in party mood, her birthday is coming up and she is excited to have some fun (when is she ever not doing this?).

she keep saying ~ "i want to have a party but daddy is not back yet"

i told her ~ "he has a lot to do in heaven, that's why he can't be back"

she gave me the look and must be wondering what a load of "crap"!! is there so much to do in heaven besides golfing, rallying, eating, drinking (?), watching telly.

maybe daddy is a gardener is heaven coz elli dreamt he brought home lots of flowers for us, or maybe he is a florist (nah!! even heaven can't make that possible)

not sure what he is doing...just that he is really busy being a party pooper!!

questions questions questions

evi is now curious where her daddy is hiding from her for so long, so she starts asking questions to probe mommy.

evi : mommy, who make this nice bathroom?
me : daddy did it
evi : mommy, who buy this thing?
me: daddy bought it

so last night when the 2 che ches were away in tuition, she was alone with mommy then she started asking again.

evi : mommy, where is daddy? where did daddy go? where is daddy, mommy? (many many times...repeatingly)

all i said was he is in heaven...

i was taken aback with her need to know, maybe this is the age of understanding or realisation. she has been saying daddy is in the office or working in the office, as she sees her mommy going and coming back from office, so one day dad will too? little little things are being observed and has triggered her curiosity.

3 years 8 months 2 weeks. we (che ches & i) will give you the answers slowly and you will have a full understanding as you grow up.

update 29 Feb 2012
evi again started - why daddy has a lot to do in heaven? when will he finish his work? is he handsome? is he cute? can i box his face?

then she asked me to open the window, so she can see daddy, she said i can see daddy in his friend's house or she can see him far off in the pink light with lions (her imagination is cute) or he is outside the house.

after talking a lot, she then closed the window and said thank you mommy for opening the window.

elli's new year

poor girl after going to school 1 day, she fell sick for almost a week. lost a lot of weight - more bones than flesh now. unexpectedly after all that, she stopped her favourite activity - my milk guzzler has now totally stopped drinking milk. i am trying to entice her to continue since she can't eat fish which eliminates a lot of food coz she's not crazy for beef or lamb. she loves her veg & fruits...my lil vegetarian. her fave fruits are the red dragon fruit & durian...yumms

with the start of school comes all the activities - gymrama (wed & sat), tuition classes (mon, tue & thurs) and homework (everyday). was thinking of giving her music lessons...shall see how she copes. not much room for play...thankfully CNY is just around the corner and will enjoy the coming long break.

update 13 Jan - elli is back to her normal milk guzzling self...mommy is happy.

new school year

4 January - elli went to school though it would be counted as her 2nd day since her orientation on 30 Dec, she was in her element with friends all around - she is a happy camper. mommy was exhausted visiting her 3 times today - assembly, recess & going home time. however mommy met other mommies from her class & even a mommy from erika's previous classmate (amanda) ~ small world. bad news is elli, started to have aches in her hand and legs when school day ended. so mommy took her to see her paed and she was running a fever...so this week only went to school 1 day, hopefully all recovered to see her friends next week.

orientation day ~ evi after seeing elli dressed up in full uniform, asked to wear the same. so the 2 went to school together, elli said "mom i am shy walking next to evi, embarrasing". evi pulled off as a std 1 pupil, thanks to her size...funny thing is this girl also happily suck a bottle of milk while walking around the school.

{note - it was super tiring with the heat, excitement & all, mommy need to take the weekend to recover. going to school is hard work}

5 January - evi 1st day in kindy, happy that it was uneventful, no tears, she just went in happily at 8:45 and played along. when mommy & elli (sick didn't go school) went to get her at 12:15 teacher wanted to meet me...oh oh....said evi is too strong willed and do not want to join in circle time. mommy knows evi is just acting herself, she is not different or difficult, just being evi. mommy wants to know if the teacher is able to entice evi by manipulating the environment to let her enjoy circle time (not sure ??). of cos mommy needed to do homework and encourage evi to play "circle time" at home ~ hope it works & no need to see teacher again. today (6 January) evi was all tears at the gate....hopefully dried up fast. report from teacher was evi is much better today and was able to join some group activity....great...more "circle time" play at home to boost this learning experience. she has to learn that she is not the center of the universe...

erika is having a red eye....wanted to do all the home remedy on her like putting a slice of potato on her eye, but she wouldn't let me, so only ice. read that it will go away in a week even if nothing is done, so fingers cross. now her eye is slightly swollen though not red yet.

hope next week will be way better!!

loooong day for evi

i could not sleep today, evi too. maybe she knows she's going to go through something very major today.

me worried, asked the world to pray for her that all will go as smoothly as it should.

evi may sense the panic in my face this whole time but not know how to respond to it. so she had rashes all over, making me more panicky as i was afraid the docs won't help her if she is not perfectly healthy. i kept rubbing her with special ointment, massaging her, praying all the redness will go down and all the lil dots will subside within a few hours!! also thinking and wondering is it a sign not to bring her in? i really need a sign from god on this one.

was up at 3 entertaining evi and trying hard to distract her from taking even a single drop. going under g.a. is no easy task. finally at 7 took her to take a bath, she was in high spirits.

mah mah came to pick us up to the hospital...a bit of traffic but thank god we found a parking spot.

once we were in, to my relief we were immediately identified and showed where to go. my panic went up a few notches but try to put a brave front for evi.

1st lil girl went in to the o.t. came out screaming....oh no!! made me wanna tear up to see that...heartbreaking.

then i had to carry evi in, to my surprise she was so cooperative until they put the gas mask on her face. i can see a whole class of doctors were waiting to see the surgeons perform their work - that was quite weird.

she put up a fiesty and screaming fight...the hardest part for me was to leave her after she was knocked out. then my big prayer to god was to give those doctors the wisdom and a good heart to do all they can for evi.

much to my relief after 1 and half hours she was out...snoring and so peacefully sleeping...doctors came and gave lots of reassurance that they tried really hard to save as many tooth as they can, and took as little as they had to.
;
evi was so cute, she said...in between tears "my front teeth lost ledi, mommy". thank god they had quite good pain management and the nurses were great too.

promise evi that we will be as good to the rest of her baby teeth and will help her keep them as clean as possible.

update 28 Feb ~ went for follow-up check and everything looks great...gums healed and all fillings intact. doc said no milk on bottle if possible (well not ready for it) so she said must be less than 5 min of bottle time to maintain good teeth. oklah...will do that and force her to brush anytime and everywhere. now her new bff is the "brush", which she hates!!

reward scheme

finish final exams for the year, time for results.

erika thought of an ingenious way to reward herself for all the hard and labourous work she did to prepare for the exams, so she propose this to kong kong over dinner (hoping to catch him in good mood and go with the scheme).

if i get no. 1 - then you pay me $1 (wah so cheap only ah....wait read on)
if i get no, 2 - then you pay me $2
if i get no, 3 - then you pay me $3
if i get no, 4 - then you pay me $4
if i get no, 5 - then you pay me $5

you can see where this is heading right? in the very, very "right" direction so that she will definitely receive a huge award.

she's hoping she comes out last!

wonder where she got all those "brilliant" ideas?
