scrapping hard

finally can post another scrap…it has been very hard work!! well, 1st have to find a meaningful picture to work with. finding the right papers, then adding on trimmings and wordings…not easy…to mix and match and make some fine art work out of it all!!

for this scrap tried and tried to post up a circular picture. (but failed la!!) wanted to cut in the picture in a circle, but didn’t find any right tools to do it…so no choice settled for the rectangle picture la…any advice or tipsy from all the super-scrappies mommies!

here’s a picture of ellisa’s hand with mine…she has recently gone crazy over rings and has been harassing for mine. after harassing and whining for a while, gave in lah…in exchange for some peace and quiet. surprising, she wears the ring and keeps it with her all the time, even when she is sleeping. and then she even puts it back into the proper place and haven’t lost it (cross fingers & touch wood) once.

Ever since I had my slipped disc over 10 years ago, I have always wanted to visit a chiropractor, but had my reservations. As I am planning for a trip to New York, seeing the sights, I also thought of visiting a New York Chiropractor.

Looking forward to my tour and exploring exciting New York, with the chiropractor and hopefully my back will be “back to normal” when I get home!

lesson learn

at bukit tinggi, i had loads of time to chit-chat, small talk, big talk with all the aunties and cousins.

then the subject of children came up (quite obvious la).

my aunt elaine was complaining about her 23 year old son, saying how he is so directionless and irresponsible and blah blah blah...then she said some of her friends have children that give the mommies almost half their salaries each month, on top of that, they still have to pay rent and other necessities…then on another hand some of her other friends have children that “expect” to be given a car, a roof over their head, food on the table, even when they are earning their own money and sometimes before the month ends…ask mommy for some cash!

so i ask, how does the 1st group of mommy “make” or churn out such good children? (well to me i think that the 1st group of children learn to grow up faster, mature, take responsibilities and know the value of “material thing”…I wish I could impart some of this magic to the 2 girls)

she said the 1st group mommies prepared the children since they were very young…(wah! I gotta start my foundation course now lor)

i asked, you mean the mom drill this into their thick skull and sing them the same song every day?

aunt elaine said…yeah you can say that! then she said its like this ~ a cycle of life…mommy tells them that she is investing in them so next time they should take care of mommy….anyway, its not really the money, it the value that’s the important lesson here…end of the day, mommy still give all the money, love, care, all of herself back to her children la…

ya...good lesson, hopefully i can impart at least half of this to erika & ellisa!

Shopping for lights

Since the last time we shifted to this house we have not upgraded or changed any of our track lighting, or even any of our lighting ~ indoor or outdoor! Yeah I know…lazy bums! Its time to refresh the look with some great lighting. A play of lights really do enhance the whole ambiance of the house.

So it’s time to give a face-lift to our home lighting fixtures, and start shopping.

refreshing retreat

po po organised a trip to bukit tinggi for all our cousins and her cell group friends.

so on saturday morning we all got up early (daddy had to miss this one coz he went to penang to do the "ching" thingy with yeh yeh, ku ma & mah mah)get packing and set out around 10ish.

the resort is not the "burrr-gaya" but a private one la...the little resort has all the basic facilities we needed (no fancy fitness equipment and all), but good clean loo and bath (vely vely important) and clean rooms...plus it has nice deck areas for communal meets or laze or chit chat sessions...and a nice big pool and baby pool...the best part about the pool is the water is chorine free…and is freshly pumped up from the stream…the downside is the water is frezzzzzing cold (ellisa was shivering, so was I when we played in it) since the water so clean & fresh, erika & ellisa had no itchy skin problems like when they played in a normal chorine pool.

see all the children (i think about 15 or 16 of them) playing with the frogs & tadpoles that were in the pool!! kong kong catching the froggies and putting them in cups ~ a little science show!

in the noon time after lunch, we all walked to a beautiful water fall, just 2 miles away from the resort…ellisa walked most of the way there and back…my super strong girl! later konked-out la...so much exercise and used so much energy!

erika was so scared of the water, so she built sand-castles...not bad can play beach here too!

time seems to slowwwwww dowwwn a lot here, even after all that came back to the resort...wah only 3 something...okay eat some more...tea time...then po po organised games...keng ah! all suppose to participate...old, young, big or small...end up only the below 12 answered her call for games...played collect water in assorted containers & win-lose-or-draw.

popo real terror...organise trip, organise rooms, organise meal, organise itinerary, organise games and entertainment!!

nite we had bbq...yummy...then uncle henry took out his guitar and there was singing, joget, karaoke session! back to the 50s, 60s, 70s...coz he dunno any new numbers in the 90s!

3 girls (erika, ellisa & synn yi) plus me shared this bed...can imagine it was not very comfy for me!

the next morning, erika followed her cousins to the "bur-gaya" resort...visit rabbit farm and sat horsie horsie...she corrected me...say not horsie but only a donkey! (pictures in cousin's camera...) couldn't take more pic...crazy chasing ellisa around.

very very refreshed…from the air, the water and the noisy crowd!

can’t say the same for poor daddy. he had a terrible journey back from penang…took him almost 12 hours…to get home…a really sluggish bumper to bumper ride.

All about VOIP

when it comes to I must say technological gadgets, software or widgets, my mind can get really hazy from all the fancy names and applications.

But at least I am not a total lost case, I have heard about VOIP and know what it stands for Voice Over Internet Protocal (give myself a pat on the back!). This means that using this technology you are able to make calls through your computer to your love ones or friends all over the world, sometimes even for free…yahoo!

Well for some VOIP providers, there may be some charges but usually it’s a local call charge for your international calls. That means I can talk to my cousin sister in Australia, or my aunt in London all for a fraction of the normal phone lines charges. That’s a substantial amount of savings!!
